Superstar Mahesh Babu, who is basking in the success of "Srimanthudu", recently surprised director Koratala Siva by gifting him Audi A6, which is worth Rs 50 lakh.
The "Srimanthudu" actor attended the audio launch of movie "Akhil" on Sunday evening. Just after the event, he visited the showroom of Audi A6 in Hyderabad. He reportedly called Koratala Siva and asked him to come to the showroom, where he handed over the key of the car to the director.
"Mahesh Babu was impressed with the director for the success of Srimanthudu and gifted him an Audi A6 costing around Rs 50 lakh," a source told Deccan Chronicle. "Mahesh called the director and asked him to come to the showroom. When he arrived, he handed over the keys to the surprised director," the source added.
Prince suffered severe setback with the failure of "Aagadu" and "1: Nenokkadine" and it took a toll on his career. He was quite concerned about his future and he desperately wanted his latest outing, "Srimanthudu", to become a superhit at the box office and bring back his lost glory.
Written and directed by Koratala Siva, "Srimanthudu" is a family entertainer about a millionaire who adopts an entire village to help change it. The movie offers a beautiful message on giving back to the society. Interestingly, the film marks the debut of Mahesh Babu as a producer and he has co-produced it with Y Naveen, Y Ravi Shankar and CV Mohan.
Released in over 2,500 theatres on 7 August, "Srimanthudu" has won the hearts of both the audience as well as the critics. Even Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu and Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao watched the film and praised the director and the hero.
"Srimanthudu" has created records at the ticket counters across the globe. The movie has grossed over Rs 165 crore at the worldwide box office. It beat the lifetime collection record of "Attarintiki Daredi" and became the second all time highest grosser Telugu movie after "Baahubali - the Beginning".
Mahesh Babu is thrilled over huge critical and commercial success of "Srimanthudu" and he thanks director Koratala Siva for this success. The elated actor-turned-producer, who talks less and acts more, expressed his happiness and gratitude to the director by presenting him a costly gift.
