Koratala Siva's "Srimanthudu" starring Mahesh Babu and Shruti Haasan in leads, has done well at the worldwide box office in its second week, taking its 14-day collection beyond Rs 138 crore gross.
"Srimanthudu", which released in theatres on 7 August, grossed Rs 101 crore from 2,500 screens at the worldwide box office in its first week.
In its second week, the movie clashed with Hindi movies "Brothers" and "Gour Hari Dastaan", Tamil films "Vaalu" and "Vasuvum Saravananum Onna Padichavanga", Telugu flicks "Cinema Chupista Maava" and "Upendra 2" and Kannada movies "Uppi 2" and "Buguri".
Besides losing out some screens to new releases, "Srimanthudu" also witnessed a decrease of about 50% in business in the second week. The movie registered an average of 75% occupancy in theatres around the world.
"Srimanthudu" has collected about Rs 22 crore in its second weekend and Rs 15 crore during weekdays. In its second week, the movie grossed Rs 37 crore at the worldwide box office, taking its 14-day global collection to Rs 138 crore gross. Its two-week nett collection stands at Rs 110 crore. The film is estimated to have fetched Rs 90 crore for its distributors.
The Mahesh Babu-Shruti Haasan starrer has beaten the lifetime collection record of Pawan Kalyan's "Attarintiki Daredi". "Srimanthudu" has become the second all-time highest Telugu grosser after "Baahubali - the Beginning".
In its third week, "Srimanthudu" will clash with two big ticket movies, "Kick 2" starring Ravi Teja and "All is Well" featuring Abhishek Bachchan. Even if the movie witnesses a 50% drop in its collection, the movie will manage to cross the Rs 150-crore mark in gross collections at the global box office in its third week.
