Rumours have been doing the rounds that Bollywood diva Sridevi is likely to make her Hollywood debut alongside Oscar-winning actress Meryl Streep, if all goes well.
Hollywood producer duo, Jeremy Wall and Jerry Leider, are reportedly working hard to bring the two most talented actresses from Bollywood and Hollywood in the same frame. However, the talks are just in the initial stages.
The producer duo are trying to get the eight-time Golden Globe winning actress, Meryl Streep, and five-time Filmfare Awards winning actress, Padma Shri Sridevi, for their project, IANS reported.
According to the report, the flick is titled "Cowboys And Indians" and will be directed by Amy Redford, daughter of Hollywood legend Robert Redford.
Sridevi's manager Punkej Kharbanda has also confirmed the news, but did not reveal any further details.
"Yes, the news is true. And we are happy to have received communication about such a prestigious project, but we are not at the liberty to say anything more at this point of time," he said in a statement, according to various media reports.
Even Sridevi's husband and film producer Boney Kapoor confirmed the news saying they have received the script.
"Yes, Sri has received the script for the project that you've mentioned with Meryl Streep. We're yet to read it. Our daughter Jhanvi will read and approve it first. Only then would Sridevi and I go through it. But yes, in principle the project sounds right as a follow-up to English Vinglish for Sri," Subhash K Jha reported quoting Kapoor.
Sridevi is one of the most talented and versatile actress in the film industry. Last year, the actress made a comeback in films after 15 years with "English Vinglish" which received critical appreciation.
