Ranveer Singh had apparently rubbed Kareena Kapoor Khan the wrong way when he had said he would like her to do substantial roles in the future, but that niggle has now been taken care of and it appears the stars are ready to move on. According to recent reports, say they are coming together for "Sadma" remake.
Kareena will play the specially-abled Nehalata (originally played by Sridevi) and Ranveer will reprise Kamal Haasan's Somu, Deccan Chronicle reports. However, since there has been no official announcement regarding the casting yet, this may, at best, be considered a mere speculation.
But, there are reports which hint at the remake and Kareena being considered for it. Last year, ad-filmmaker Llyod Baptista had said he was remaking the 1983 classic adding that he wasn't rushing the process as he didn't want to ruin the essence of the film.
"We are in brief talks with some A-list actors because it's going to be hard to replace Kamal Haasan and Sridevi," he had told DNA. The Sridevi-Kamal starrer had a different setting that suited the era it was released in, the new one will have a modern take. "We have few new approaches to the film but we are not locking anything yet."
In February (2016), sources revealed that Kareena has been reading a bunch of scripts and "Sadma" remake is on the cards. "But the three scripts that she's focusing on are the remake of Sadma (produced by Boney Kapoor), a biopic on eminent Gandhian, a freedom fighter, and social activist Rajkumari Amrit Kaur. And the third is Milan Luthria's Baadshaho, which stars Ajay Devgn," the leading daily quoted an insider as saying.
In other news, Ranveer and Kareena are busy with their upcoming films. While the leading lady is gearing up for "Ki and Ka," which will be released on April 1, Ranveer is shooting for "Befikre" in Paris alongside Vaani Kapoor.
