Australia are staring at yet another Test series defeat on the sub-continental wickets. Rangana Herath took a hat-trick against Australia in the second innings of the second Test in Galle.
Australia were bowled out for an all-time low total of 106 runs against Sri Lanka in Test cricket on Friday. Herath went on to take four wickets in the first innings. Dilruwan Perera ably assisted Herath as the former too picked up four wickets.
Herath's hat-trick victims were Adam Voges, Peter Nevill and Mitchell Starc. The crafty left-arm orthodox bowler became only the second Sri Lankan bowler after Nuwan Zoysa to take a hat-trick in Test cricket.
Sri Lanka's lead has now gone past 300 runs and Australia are in all sorts of trouble. If Australia loses this Test match, then it will be their first Test series defeat under the captaincy of Steve Smith.
