A heritage fashion show that drew people's attention to the journey of crafts, textiles and jewellery was supported by several celebrities on Sunday evening in Hyderabad.

The event, "Kausalyam", was held at the Chowmahalla Palace to raise funds for the upliftment of the artisans, and art & craft in the country. The fund-raising show was initiated by Crafts Council of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana (CCAPT), according to a press release.

Gaurang Shah, who organised the fashion show, is a well-known reviver of Jamdani weaves in khadi, uppada, paithani, kanjeevaram, patan patola and benarasi.

The event had a live music by Shuba Mudgal and also a Sufi Kathak artist Majari Chaturvedi, which became the highlight for the evening.

'Kausalyam' brought up Shah's drapes and silhouettes which were inspired from Mughal era garments along with heritage jewellery by Tibarumal's jewellers.

Several famous faces supported the fund-raiser, including Kirron Kher, Sreedevi, Boney Kapoor, Jaishree Burman, Paresh Maithy and Vaikuntam.
