Imtiaz Ali has begun his next, "The Ring," in Prague. His lead stars, Shah Rukh Khan and Anushka Sharma, have been sending greetings from the picturesque Czech city.
On-lookers have captured a few shots from first day of shoot. Dressed in a cotton shirt with a red tie and casual trousers, SRK has pulled off the casual look in style.
Imtiaz is known for making off-beat love stories, stories that do not come across as obvious and have layers to them. From what has been reported so far, SRK will be seen playing a tourist guide, and Anushka, a Gujarati girl (she's even taking classes to get her diction right).
In the leading lady's words, "The Ring" is an out-and-out romantic film and is her and Shah Rukh's third film together after "Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi" and "Jab Tak Hai Jaan."
"Imtiaz understands man-woman relationship in an intense way. There is a growth in his characters during the course of the film, love teaches them. I think that's the beauty of his romantic movies. Shah Rukh is the king of romance, he redefined love to an entire generation," Anushka told the media last month.
Meanwhile, SRK said "The Ring" isn't a "young, upbeat" love story because he wanted to play his age. Imtiaz has an interesting take on the love story and hopefully the audience will appreciate it, he further elaborated.
The cast and crew of the film will shift base to Budapest by the end of this month. There has been no update on the release date yet, but definitely sometime next year.
In other news, SRK will begin Aanand L Rai's as-yet-untitled film in December, in which he plays a dwarf. It is, again, a love story and he will be seen romancing two actresses, one of which could be Deepika Padukone.
Anushka has wrapped up her home production "Phillauri," which is a comedy with Diljit Dosanjh. She doesn't have other offers yet.
