German carmaker Volkswagen's upcoming new Polo hatchback has been snapped once again ahead of its possible debut in June, days after the company teased the model in a video. While the teaser showed camouflaged Polo, the latest images of the hatchback reveal it fully in its undisguised form.
The images have been clicked by Auto Bild. In the new avatar, the Polo hatchback moves from PQ25 platform to the lighter MQB A0 and is in for a complete overhaul. The new Polo will be longer and wider than the outgoing model with edgy styling.
At the front, the new Polo is expected to flaunt new bumper with restyled front grille and fog lamps and there is also newly styled headlamps with LED. The curves and the lines of the new Polo seems to have further accentuated with chrome lining while the rear is expected to have new taillamp cluster and redesigned bumper.
Although the interior of the new Polo has not been uncovered yet in any of the images, rumour has it that the new touchscreen infotainment systems will be in place along with several other features such as digital instrument cluster and Park Pilot parking assistant. Powering the new Polo will be an array of both petrol and diesel mills including 1.5-liter TSI petrol, 2.0-litre TSI, 1.0-liter three-cylinder petrol and 1.6-liter TDI engines.
It is not sure whether the new Polo will make its way to the Indian market. If VW India brings the hatchback in its new avatar, it is likely to continue with the same engine options of the current model.
