Spice Mobile has announced launching their Android One smartphone series in Indonesia, Nepal and Sri Lanka.
According to reports, the existing Android One smartphone will be renamed Nexian Journey One in Indonesia. Spice has also asserted that the smartphones will be offered with Android 5.1 Lollipop out-of-the-box.
The improved version of the Android 5 Lollipop operating system offers improved battery life, enhanced security features and smarter notifications.
Commenting on the announcement, Spice Mobility CEO Prashant Bindal said "We are delighted to expand our reach into international markets of Indonesia, Sri Lanka and Nepal with the revolutionary Android One smartphones. We are pleased with the customer response towards the Android One phone in India and are confident that the product will be equally successful in these markets as well, enabling us to strengthen our position in the international mobile market."
The Android One smartphone is a dual SIM 3G smart device, powered by an impressive 1.3GHz Quad core Processor. The phone has a sleek design with a 4.5 inch IPS display and features an expandable storage capacity of 32GB to store a large amount of music, movies, photos and video files. The 5mp Auto Focus rear camera clicks sharp images while the 2mp front camera will appeal to selfie lovers.
Recently, Spice Mobility also announced an investment of ₹500 crore to set up a local manufacturing unit in Uttar Pradesh to expand its operations in the country and cater to export markets. The company has a strong market position in India, primarily catering to Tier II and Tier III markets with an innovative and affordable range of phones.
