Spice Google Android One Price, Specification Details Revealed ahead of Launch in India: Report

Spice-Google Android One smartphone specifications and price details has been revealed ahead of launch on 15 September.

Flipkart, said to be the exclusive seller of Spice handset accidently (or intentionally, as a marketing gimmick?), listed the "Spice Android One Dream UNO Mi-498" phone's for ₹6,999 with key specifications.

Once the word got out in the media, the e-commerce took the web-page down from the Internet, but by then some tech blogs had already taken the screen shot.

According to the listing (courtesy, AndroidOS.in), Spice Android One sports a 4.5-inch FWVGA IPS LCD screen and comes packed with stock Android 4.4.4 KitKat OS out-of-the box.

Under the hood, it houses 1.3GHz MediaTek quad-core CPU, Mali-400 MP GPU, 1GB RAM, 4GB inbuilt memory and a 1,700 mAh battery, which can power the phone for close to 17 hours (2G) and 10 hours (3G) of talk time and close to 160 hours under stand-by mode.

On the camera-front, it packs a 5.0mp camera with LED flash, 5X digital zoom and full HD (1,920x1,080p) video-recording ability and on the front, it flaunts 2.0mp snapper for video-chatting.

Going by the features of Spice smartphone, it certain to be hit among price-sensitive and youth consumers just like Motorola's Moto E and Xiaomi's Redmi 1S.

Spice has already teased a graphic poster the phone (thought to be Android One device) will go on sale via Flipkart at 3:30pm on 15 September.

For the uninitiated, Google is all set to officially unveil three Android One devices from Micromax, Karbonn and Spice on Monday,15 September in New Delhi. What's more special about the event is that the company's senior vice-president, Sundar Pichai, is said to be the host of the programme.
