Specifications of Microsoft Flagship Smartphones Leak Online; Devices Tipped to Have 64-bit Class SoC, Triple LED Flash and More

Specifications of Microsoft's top-end smartphones codenamed 'Cityman' and 'Talkman' have surfaced online.

Citing sources, technology blog Unleash The Phone has claimed that Microsoft is preparing to launch a couple of flagship smartphones – a 5.2-inch smartphone aka Talkman and a 5.7-inch phablet aka Cityman – in the second half of the year, like rival Apple, which is also expected to unveil successors to iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus in September.

Sources have said that Talkman, understood to be the successor to Lumia 930, will sport 5.2-inch QHD (2K: 2560x1440p) display, 3GB RAM, 32GB inbuilt memory, 3000 mAh battery, 20mp camera on the rear side and 5mp snapper on the front side, and will be powered by 64-bit class Snapdragon Hexa-core processor.

There is no word on the type of chipset, but it is believed the company is most likely to incorporate the Snapdragon 808 SoC (System on Chip), like the one used in the recently released LG G4.

On the other hand, Microsoft phablet Cityman is expected to feature pretty much the same internal hardware except few features, like CPU, screen, battery, 64-bit class Snapdragon 810 series (quad-core ARM Cortex A57 and quad-core A53) processor, 5.7-inch QHD display. To support the power guzzling screen, it will be backed by high-capacity 3300 mAh battery.

Both phones are expected to ship with Microsoft's new Windows 10 OS out-of-the-box.

The most interesting part of the upcoming Microsoft phones is that they are said to boast triple LED flash. Each LED (Light Emitting Diode) will have a different shade (or "tone") to enable photos to feature the most natural colours, taking the experience of photography to a new level.

Microsoft is yet to respond to the rumours on the Internet.
