Akshay Kumar starrer "Special 26" is still running at the overseas box office. The movie is in its fifth week overseas and is being screened across 4-5 screens.
The heist drama film is still entertaining audiences in the UK, US and New Zealand circuits.
"SPECIAL 26 has collected £ 20 on 2 screens Total: £ 2,38,837 [₹1.93 crores] US $ 10,65,938 [₹5.80 crores] and NZ$ 96 on 1 screen. Total: NZ$ 76,723 [₹34.26 lacs] after its fifth weekend," trade analyst and film critic Taran Adarsh said.
In India, the film has almost stopped its run at theatres. The business of the film was similar to Akshay's last release "Khiladi 786". It performed well in Mumbai, Delhi, UP, West Bengal, Mysore and TNK (Tamil Nadu and Kerala territories).
The film is directed by Neeraj Pandey and also features Kajal Agarwal, Jimmy Shergill, Manoj Bajpai, Anupam Kher and Divya Dutta in important roles.
The business was affected because of the release of youth-oriented film "Kai Po Che!" Abhishek Kapoor's film was released two weeks later but it still managed to beat the business of "Special 26".
The film, which is in its third week, is earning well in India as well as the overseas market.
It has earned ₹5.51 crores ($ 1 million) in US, ₹1.52 crores (£ 1, 87,689) in the UK, ₹2.85 crores ($ 500,000) in UAE and ₹61.54 lakhs (A$ 1, 10,807) in Australia after the third weekend.
"Kai Po Che!" is the first film of this year that features newcomers - Sushant Singh, Amit Sadh and Raj Kumar Yadav.
