Everything and anything about Aishwarya Rai Bachchan's return film "Jazbaa" is making news. After the much-talked-about elaborate script reading session of the movie, it is the latest addition to the cast that is making headlines.
Tamil-Telugu actress Priya Banerjee who had made appearances in couple of movies in South is now set for her debut Bollywood film, directed by Sanjay Gupta.
The actress who is new to the film industry seemed excited when she tweeted, "Looking forward to working with such a brilliant team".
Apparently, it is Twitter that paved Priya's way to Bollywood. The director spotted the upcoming actress in a video that featured the actress, eventually led to her casting in the movie. Though not much is revealed about Priya's role in the movie, the makers say she will play a pivotal character.
"Actually, someone had tagged me with a video that had one of Priya's Tamil films and a short film. I watched it, and thought she looked superb. Then, I asked my casting director to find the girl. Later, when we found out that she hasn't signed any other Hindi film, we auditioned, and she was impressive there. She is a fine actor and plays an important role in the film," director Sanjay Gupta told Bollywoodlife
"Jazbaa" has been making news since its announcement and speculations were also high about the star cast of the film. The movie is touted as a woman-centric thriller and former Miss World is reportedly playing the role of a lawyer. Makers also claim that Aishwarya will entice audience with some daredevil stunt sequences, which she is doing without the help of a body double.
"Jazbaa" also has Irfan Khan, Shabana Azmi, Siddhanth Kapoor, Anupam Kher, Atul Kulkarni, Chandan Roy Sanyal in prominent roles. John Abraham who played lead in Gupta's "Shoot Out at Wadala" also has a cameo appearance in the movie.
