An eight-member delegation led by the Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Human Settlements, South Africa, Zou Kota-Fredricks, called on the Minister of Housing and Urban Poverty Alleviation and Culture, Kumari Selja in New Delhi, on Monday.
During their meeting, both sides discussed common areas of interest, i.e. affordable housing and community involvement in government programmes, urban employment programmes, rural housing for the poor, etc., according to a statement by the Indian government.
It was agreed the two countries would actively collaborate and share their experiences in the field of human settlements, skill development of urban poor etc., through mutual exchange programmes, added the statement.
At an earlier meeting, the Secretary for the Ministry of Housing and Urban Poverty Alleviation, Arun Kumar Misra, appraised the visiting delegation of various programmes/schemes of the Ministry.
