Assistant director-turned-comedian Soubin Shahir's maiden directorial venture, "Parava," was launched at Qissa Cafe in Fort Kochi on Wednesday, June 1.
"All the best to the machan of machans Soubin Shahir for the pooja of his maiden film ‪#‎Parava‬ today [sic]," Dulquer Salmaan, who shared the screen space with Soubin in the blockbusters "Charlie" and "Kali," said, wishing his co-star on his new venture. "All the best Soubin Shahir macha.. Let ur PARAVA fly high [sic]," Vipin Das, who directed the comedy entertainer "Mudhugauv." posted on his Facebook account.
"Parava," which will star newcomers in the lead roles, is the third production venture of Anwar Rasheed, after the blockbuster "Bangalore Days" and "Premam," under the banner Anwar Rasheed Entertainment in association with The Movie Club. The team had earlier announced a unique casting call seeking male and female actors aged between 13 and 26 for the movie. More details about the cast and crew of the film are expected to be revealed in the coming days.
Soubin, who began his association with the Malayalam entertainment industry by assisting successful filmmakers Fazil, Rafi-Mecartin, Siddique, Santhosh Sivan, Rajeev Ravi and Amal Neerad, made his acting debut in Fahadh Faasil's "Annayum Rasoolum" in 2013. But the actor got a break-through performance in the blockbuster Nivin Pauly movie "Premam," in which he shined in the role of a PT master.
Soon, Soubin became an inevitable part of Malayalam movies. He is known for his performances in "Chandrettan Evideya," "Charlie," "Maheshinte Prathikaaram," "Kali," "Darwinte Parinamam," "Mudhugauv," and received positive response from the audience for his never-seen-before role in Dulquer's "Kammatipaadam."
