Sony's next generation smartwatch specs have been leaked just a couple of days ahead of the rumoured 26 June launch at the international phone trade fair in Shanghai, China.
Technology website CNET in contacts with its source has revealed that Sony's upcoming smart watch would sport larger screen space than its predecessor (SmartWatch MN2) and support the latest Android operating system
The website also reported that Sony's new wearable device will ship with NFC (Near Field Communications) features to enable the wrist watch to sync data files with smartphones.
With just a simple touch between the devices, NFC features will enable the user to read SMS, e-mail, calendar notifications and even view Facebook and Twitter feeds on the wrist watch screen.
Just a couple of days ago, the Japanese electronics giant had posted a picture of Smart Watch on its official Sony Xperia Twitter page, which almost confirmed the imminent debut of its second generation wearable device.
Twitter excerpts read - "Tick-tock, tick-tock, tick-tock #itstime #MAE13". It is to be noted that hash tags #MAE13 implies Mobile Asia Expo 2013 which is scheduled to take place during 26-28 June. Many believe that the event is sure to witness the launch of Sony's Smart Watch 2.
If the speculations do become a reality, Sony will have an edge over its rivals Apple and Google who are also reportedly planning to launch their own smart wearable devices in the near future.
Sony's current model SmartWatch-MN2 is available India at Flipkart for ₹6,200.
