Sony usually makes their presence felt at the Mobile World Congress by holding formal press conference and live streaming the launch of its device but its fans are likely to miss the glam this year, as the company is said to be planning to make the unveiling of its flagship smartphone, the Xperia Z4 a low key affair.
The Japanese electronics giant is expected to unveil its flagship smartphone, the Xperia Z4, at the upcoming Mobile World Congress (MWC 2015) to be held from 2 to 5 March in Barcelona.
Sony Mobile is likely to announce its latest device on the first day of the MWC 2015, but there won't be formal press conference or live stream of the event like in the past, a source told XperiaBlog.
There were also reports that Sony might announce the Xperia E1 II, successor of entry level smartphone Xperia E1, along with the next-generation device at the MWC 2015.
There are conflicting reports on the specifications of the Sony Xperia Z4 though most reports suggested a significant feature upgrade over its predecessor, the Xperia Z3. GSMArena reported that the device would boast of features like a Snapdragon 810 processor, Android 5.0 Lollipop, 5.2-inch 1440x2560px Triluminos display, 20.7mp camera, and 3,400mAh battery.
However, a report by Tech Radar claimed that the Japanese electronics giant would launch the Sony Xperia Z4 Compact and the Sony Xperia Z4 Ultra - the former to feature a 4.7-inch screen with 720p to 1080p resolution, Snapdragon 810 processor, 32GB internal memory and 3GB RAM, 20.7mp camera, IP68 water and dust proof certification, and LTE Cat 9 connectivity, while the latter would have similar feature to the Xperia Z4 Compact except for its 6.44-inch screen size.
It may also be mentioned that reports were doing the rounds that the Sony Xperia Z4 might sport a 5.4-inch or 5.5-inch screen, powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor, and run on Android 5.0 Lollipop. It was also reported the device might come packed with a 32GB internal memory and 4GB RAM, house a 20.7mp main camera and 4.8mp front snapper, powered by 3,420mAh battery, and have Qi Wireless Charging.
