All eyes are on the Sony Xperia Z4 as its release date is getting closer. The device is expected to be unveiled on the first day of Mobile World Congress 2015 (MWC 2015), which is scheduled to kick off on 2 March, in Barcelona.
A report by XperiaBlog claiming that there won't be formal press conference or live streaming of the event unlike in the past, has sparked off speculations that the company could be laying low this time for one reason, and that is no good specifications to boast off at the event.
However, reports have suggested that the Sony Xperia Z4 would have much superior features over its predecessor, the Xperia Z3.
According to benchmarking site Geekbench (via Phone Arena), the Sony Xperia Z4 is expected to come with features like Snapdragon 810 processor, Android 5.0.2 Lollipop, and 3GB RAM. GSMArena reported that the device might sport a 5.2-inch 1440 x 2560px Triluminos display, powered by Snapdragon 810 processor, run on Android 5.0 Lollipop, have a 20.7MP camera, and 3,400mAh battery.
A report by Tech Radar however claimed that the Xperia Z4 Compact would sport a 4.7-inch screen with 720p to 1080p resolution, while the Ultra version sport a 6.44-inch screen size, and come with IP68 water and dust proof certification, and LTE Cat 9 connectivity. It went on to claim that both the variants will have common features like Snapdragon 810 processor, 32GB internal memory and 3GB RAM, and 20.7MP camera.
It was earlier reported that the device would feature a 5.4-inch or 5.5-inch screen, Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor, 20.7MP main camera and 4.8MP front snapper, Android 5.0 Lollipop, 32GB internal memory and 4GB RAM, 3420 mAh battery, and Qi Wireless Charging.
On the other hand, the Xperia Z3 sports a 5.2 inches IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen with 1080 x 1920 pixels (424 ppi pixel density), powered Qualcomm Snapdragon 801processor and run on by Android 4.4.4 KitKat (planned upgrade Android 5.0 Lollipop). It comes packed with 16/32 GB internal memory, 3 GB RAM and microSD up to 128 GB, 20.7 MP main camera and 2.2 MP front snapper, and non-removable Li-Ion 3100 mAh battery.
