Sony Xperia Z4 has become a hot topic for discussion with its release date drawing closer. It is expected to be unveiled at the upcoming Mobile World Conference 2015 (MWC 2015), clashing with other flagship devices Samsung Galaxy S6 and HTC One (M9).
Emails exposed from the recent Sony Entertainment hack controversy hinted that the release date of Sony Xperia Z4 could be anywhere between May and November 2015.
It also led to speculation that the device would be used in James Bond movie "Spectre" and lead actor Daniel Craig has been paid big for his association with it, triggering the possibility that there could be Sony Xperia Z4 Compact or perhaps 007 Edition. It was also reported that Sony could launch Xperia Z4 Music and Xperia Z4 Dual-SIM variants.
According to a report by GSMArena, Sony Xperia Z4 may sport a 5.2-inch 1440 x 2560px Triluminos display and come with features like Snapdragon 810 processor, Android 5.0 Lollipop, 20.7MP camera, 3,400mAh battery and water resistance.
Earlier reports had suggested that two models of the device – one with a Quad HD display and other with Full HD resolution – would be released.
However, a report by Tech Radar claimed that Xperia Z4 would sport a 4.7-inch screen with IP68 water and dust proof certification and LTE Cat 9 connectivity.
The device could see a price hike considering the Samsung Galaxy S6 is expected to be launched at around £599, according to PC Advisor. Xperia Z2 came with a price tag of £599 but its successor, Xperia Z3 was launched at £549. However, the upcoming Xperia Z4 is likely to come with a higher price tag, as it is expected to come with significant feature upgrade over its predecessor.
