Sony was expected to unveil its much-anticipated flagship smartphone dubbed as the Xperia Z4 at the recently concluded Consumer Electronics Show 2015 (CES 2015) but it never happened. Now, focus is on the upcoming Mobile World Conference 2015 (MWC 2015) in March for the announcement of Xperia Z3's successor though not confirmed.
The Xperia Z4 missed CES 2015 but gadget lovers will expect it to see the light of the day at the MWC 2015 to be held in Barcelona from 2-5 March, as the Xperia Z3 was also launched at the same event last year.
According to Android Authority (via ePrice), the Sony Xperia Z4 will have its predecessor Xperia Z3's looks, including metal frame, but with more colour options.
The report went on to claim that the device would sport a 5.2-inch Full HD TRILUMINOS display with a 2K screen resolution version to be made available in the US.
It is also reported that Sony would launch two variants of Xperia Z4, one with a Quad HD display and other with Full HD resolution.
It is expected to have either a 5.4-inch or 5.5-inch screen, powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor, run on Android 5.0 Lollipop, and come packed with 32GB internal memory and 4GB RAM. The device is also likely to have a 20.7mp main camera and 4.8mp front snapper, house a 3,420mAh battery and Qi wireless charging.
Meanwhile, a report by Tech Radar claimed that the Xperia Z4 would sport a 4.7-inch screen, which is seen in the Xperia Z3, but come with a 1080p resolution. It went on to say that the device would feature IP68 water and dust-proof certification and LTE Cat 9 connectivity.
