Specifications of Sony's upcoming Xperia Z1 aka Honami smartphone have surfaced online, just hours ahead of the press event.
Sony dedicated website, Xperia Blog, has posted the alleged Sony press note which confirmed that the new phone will be titled 'Xperia Z1'. The document highlighted the key features in detail, confirming the existence of G-lens with a 27 mm wide angle f2.0 aperture and the BIONZ image processor.
Xperia Z1 will reportedly sport a 5.0-inch full HD (1920x1080p) TFT TRILUMINOS display boasting of innovative 'X-Reality for Mobiles' screen technology. It is expected to run on Android mobile OS v4.2.2 Jelly Bean powered by 2.2GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 series quad-core processor with Adreno 330 graphics engine.
Other stipulated features include 2GB RAM, 16GB inbuilt memory with options of storage expansion, and a 20.7-megapixel camera that boasts of a ½.3-inch CMOS Exmor RS image sensor
To further enhance the photography experience, the smartphone is said come with superior auto and manual options, time-shift burst mode, Sweep Panorama, Social Live (it lets users to broadcast live video on social platform like Facebook), Info-eye feature, additional filter options and the AR Effect feature which lets user to put 'Augmented Reality' scenarios onto a picture.
However, the blog failed to shed light on the rumours of 4K (3840x2160p) ultra HD resolution video recording feature in Xperia Z1.
Other noteworthy features include water-resistant and dust-proof IP55/IP58 certifications which lets users to take snapshots under five-feet of water for close to 30 minutes.
The smartphone ships with high-capacity 3000 mAh battery and NFC capabilities and is said to sell in three colour variants - black, white and purple.
Soon after the report went online, Sony officials reportedly requested Xperia Blog to take down the press note from its website.
After the 4 September event, Sony is said to showcase Xperia Z1 at the annual international electronics show - IFA (Internationale Funkausstellung Berlin) 2013, which is scheduled to take place during 6-11 September.
According to reports, Xperia Z1 is expected to get released in India in the third week September for a whopping ₹50,000 plus price-tag.
