Sony had unveiled its Xperia Z flagship smartphone at the international Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, and few days back it officially made its India debut.
Rival smartphone maker Nokia released Lumia 920 much earlier in January this year in the sub-continent.
Xperia Z and Lumia 920 are high-end devices and priced very well below the ₹39,000 mark, which is very less compared to their rivals Apple iPhone 5, BlackBerry Z10, and HTC Butterfly (all priced above ₹44,000).
Lumia 920 and Xperia Z sport amazing camera specs, but which camera-phone will have the upper hand? Can Xperia Z's Exmor RS camera challenge Lumia 920's PureView camera?
Display:
Xperia Z sports an impressive full HD Reality display with 441 ppi resolutions thanks to Sony's exclusive Mobile BRAVIA Engine 2. Lumia too sports a high-resolution 4.5-inch PureMotion HD+ LCD WXGA capacitive display with high-sensitive touch with pixel density of 332 ppi.
Processor:
Both Xperia Z and Lumia 920 pack Qualcomm Snapdragon based processors, but Xperia boasts a little faster 1.5GHz quad-core Snapdragon S4 pro processor while Nokia is powered by a slower dual-core Snapdragon S4 processor.
Camera:
One of the striking features of Lumia 920 is its main camera. It sports an 8.7-megapixel Carl-Zeiss optics-enabled camera with Nokia's exclusive PureView technology.
Sony too is no less of competitor in terms of camera specs; it boasts one of the industry's innovative Exmor RS Camera Sensor in the Xperia Z's 13.0-megapixel main camera.
Mobile Operating System:
In terms of mobile operating system, Xperia Z scores some points over the Lumia 920, as Sony's smartphone runs on the Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean OS. Android OS ecosystem has a very big collection of more than 675,000 apps
On the other hand, Lumia 920's, Windows Phone 8, is only a few months old in the market, it only holds a little over 150,000 apps.
