After months of beta testing, Sony has finally commenced the roll out of the much awaited Android Nougat to its flagship smartphone Xperia X performance.
The new Android Nougat bearing build number 39.2.A.0.327 is now available to both Xperia X Performance single-SIM (model number: F8131) and dual-SIM (model number: F8132) variants in select regions, Xperia Blog reported.
The new update brings multi-window options, bundled notification, improved security and also numerous other value-added features to enhance user experience.

In addition to the Nougat features, Sony has introduced exclusive Xperia phone series features including manual shutter speed control and manual ISO control at 23MP option and also the proprietary STAMINA battery power optimisation.
If you have received the OTA (Over-The-Air) update notification message on the phone:
1. Select "Yes, I'm in".
2. After the software is downloaded, select "Install now."
3. After the software is installed, your phone will re-start automatically.
4. Your phone is now updated.
Since OTA roll-outs are carried out in phases, it will take a week or two to reach all the corners of the world.
Users can also check for updates manually by going to Settings >> About Phone >> System Updates >> check for the new firmware.
With the release of new update to Xperia X Performance, the Xperia XZ will now be the next in line to receive Android Nougat, followed by Xperia X and X Compact later in the year.
Other Sony devices that are confirmed to get the new update include –Xperia Z3+, Xperia Z4 Tablet, Xperia Z5, Xperia Z5 Compact, Xperia Z5 Premium, Xperia X, Xperia XA and Xperia XA Ultra.
