Consumer electronics giant Sony along with Japanese network carrier KDDI on Monday (20 May) jointly unveiled the Xperia UL smartphone in its home country.
Sony Xperia UL features a 5.0-inch TFT Reality Display with full HD 1920x1080p resolution and pixel density close to 443 ppi (pixels per inch). It is said to run on Android v4.1 Jelly Bean OS powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro APQ8064 quad-core processor with 1.5GHz clock speed.
The new Sony smartphone also sports a water (IPX5/IPX8) and dust-proof (IP5X) exterior case, similar to the ones sported by Xperia Z, Xperia ZR, and Xperia A.
According to reports, Sony Xperia UL will hit stores in Japan on 25 May and will arrive in black, white and pink variants. The company is yet to reveal details regarding the price and also its availability in other markets.
