Since the beginning of 2014, there were rumours of the second generation Xperia Tablet Z code-named 'Castor' being under works. Now for the first time, images and specification of the slate has surfaced online just days ahead of the international electronics trade show MWC (Mobile World Congress) 2014.
Prolific twitter spy, @evleaks has posted the alleged image of the Sony Xperia Tablet Z2 aka Castor along with key specifications. In the picture, the slate looks identical to its predecessor in terms of design, having same rectangular body with curved edges. Only difference is that upcoming tablet will have slimmer body with just 6.4 mm thickness. [To view the snapshot, click here]
The new Xperia Tablet Z2 is said to sport a 10.1-inch WUXGA (1920x1200p) screen with TRILUMINOS display technology and reportedly runs on the latest Android v4.4 KitKat OS, powered by a 2.3GHz Snapdragon 800 CPU with 3GB RAM. It is also said to house an 8.0-megapixel main camera and a 2.0-megapixel camera on the front, enough to make a good quality video chat as well as snap a pretty decent Selfie to upload on social networking sites.
Rumour has it that Sony is also planning to unveil new flagship phone Xperia Z2 (codenamed Sirius) along with the Xperia Tablet Z2 at the MWC 2014. The brand has also said that it will hold a conference at Barcelona on the opening day (24 February).
