Sony India on Wednesday (29 May) officially launched its flagship Xperia Tablet Z, which is touted as the slimmest 10.1-inch tablet PC in the world.
The new Xperia Tablet Z is now available at exclusive Sony stores in major cities across India for ₹46,990. As an introductory offer, Sony is offering premium leather tablet case worth around ₹2,990, an additional 16GB microSD card inside the tablet for free, and six month EMI scheme with zero percent interest rate.
However, the same Sony tablet PC can be purchased for a much lower price of ₹44,990 at two online shops - Flipkart and Infibeam. The device is expected to be shipped in the first week of June.
Xperia Tablet Z sports a 10.1-inch LCD WUXGA (1920x1200p) display with Mobile BRAVIA Engine 2 and runs on the Android v4.1 Jelly Bean OS powered by 1.5GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro quad-core krait processor with Adreno 320 graphics engine.
One striking feature is that Xperia Tablet Z comes with a water and dust-proof body case which can survive underwater for close to 30 minutes. Its smaller cousin, the 5.0-inch Xperia Z, is also water and dust resistant.
Sony had officially unveiled Xperia Tablet Z at World Mobile Congress in late February.
