On 2 June, Sony had teased a phablet with a tag 'the next big thing' on Twitter and now the device has been made official as Xperia T3.
The new 5.3-inch Xperia T3 flaunts a thin body measuring just 7.0 mm and is said to be slimmest in its class. It also boasts stainless steel frame across the edges, which also acts as the phone's signal receiving antennae. The chassis (on right-side) is lined with the hallmark circular power button at the center, volume rocker and the dedicated camera launcher button.
Though Sony smartphone looks premium from outside, it is a mid-range device. Xperia T3 houses HD (1280x720p) TRILUMINOS screen with BRAVIA Engine 2 and ships with the Android v4.4 KitKat OS, 1.4GHz Snapdragon quad-core CPU, 1GB RAM , 8GB inbuilt memory (expandable up to 32GB), 2500 mAh battery, which can power the smartphone up to 12 hours 46 minutes of talk time and close to 688 hours under standby mode.
Like all mid-tier Xperia phones, it also houses the company's proprietary cyber shot technology – Exmor RS lens in the 8.0-megapixel primary camera. Other photography user-experience enriching apps include- Social Live (users can broadcast real-time events via social platform like Facebook), AR effect (enables user to animations and gifs to photos and videos), Timeshift burst (lets user to take 31 snapshots in 2 seconds), creative effects (can change colors and apply mirror effects), portrait re-touch (helps in getting photogenic finish). In the front, it packs a 1.1-megapixel HD camera, enough to get decent quality selfie.
According to the company, Sony Xperia T will be made available globally by the end of July 2014, but the details of specific region release date and price are still under the wraps.
