Japanese consumer electronics giant Sony has released mid-range smartphone Xperia M2 Dual SIM in India.
The new Sony device had originally made its debut in February at the MWC (Mobile World Congress) 2014. It boasts a 4.8-inch qHD (540x960) TFT screen and ships with Android v4.3 Jelly Bean OS, powered by 1.2GHz quad-core processor with Adreno 305 graphics engine, 1GB RAM and 8GB inbuilt memory (expandable up to 32GB).
Other stipulated features include an 8.0-megapixel camera with Sony Exmor RS camera (with LED flash, 4X digital zoom, full HD recording), a VGA (0.3-megapixel) camera on the front and a 2300 mAh battery, which can provide back-up for up to 14 hours and 14 minutes talk time and close to 693 hours under standby mode.
The company says Xperia M2 Dual SIM will be available for ₹21,990 at Sony Centres, Xperia flagship stores and major retailers across India from 25 April.
The new mid-range Sony phone will be competing with Samsung's new Galaxy Grand 2, Motorola Moto X, BlackBerry Z10 (recently the phone's price has been reduced to around ₹22,000), HTC Desire 700, Sony Xperia SP and several other devices.
