Nearly two weeks after its global debut on 4 June, Sony Xperia M is set for a launch in the Indian market.
Popular online shopping portal Infibeam has listed the mid-range Xperia M with 'Coming Soon' tag on its website without revealing the details regarding actual date of availability and price. Some UK online shops have already listed Xperia M on their website with a price tag of £227.99 (including VAT) around ₹20,700 in Indian denominations.
Xperia M comes with 4.0-inch TFT display with 854x480p resolution and runs on the Android mobile OS v4.1 Jelly Bean powered by a 1GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Plus dual-core processor with Adreno 305 graphics engine. It packs 1GB RAM, 4GB internal memory which can be expanded up to 32GB through microSD card and it houses a 5.0-megapixel camera with Exmor RS lens sensor technology plus a VGA camera at the front.
Considering its specification and expected price point of ₹20,500, Xperia M will pose a stiff challenge to Nokia Lumia 820, HTC Desire SV, BlackBerry Torch, Samsung Galaxy Grand and it might even cannibalise the sales of older Xperia siblings - Xperia SP and Xperia P, which fall in same price bracket.
According to a company statement during the launch on 4 June, Xperia M is expected to hit markets next month.
