Sony's newly launched Xperia L was finally rolled out to India online stores with a price tag of ₹18,990. The smartphone which made its debut in March along with the mid-range Xperia SP is now up for pre-orders at infibeam.com.
Xperia L was originally listed on the e-commerce website with an original price tag of ₹ 19,990. The transit time is mentioned as two to three business days from the release date. The site mentioned the release date as 8 May, hinting that Sony would announce the launch of the smartphone in India by next week.
On the specifications front, Sony Xperia L sports a 4.3-inch display with 480x854 pixel resolution and is powered by a 1GHz Qualcomm MSM8230 dual-core processor. It runs on Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean operating system and packs 1GB RAM along with 8GB of internal storage which is expandable up to 32GB via microSD card.
The handset supports WIFI, DLNA, 3G, GPS and Micro-USB and packs 1750mAh battery gives up to eight and a half hours of talktime and standby time of up to 498 hours. The device comes equipped with an 8-megapixel front camera with Exmor RS and a VGA front facing camera.
Sony's other smartphone, Xperia SP, was released in several e-retailers earlier in April. At ₹25,490, the smartphone comes with 4.6-inch HD 1280x720p screen with exclusive Mobile BRAVIA Engine 2 display technology. It runs on Android v4.1 Jelly Bean platform and is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon Pro based dual-core processor which is clocked at 1.7GHz CPU speed.
