Google has released its latest operating system Android 7.0 Nougat and it has been seeded to a few devices, but there are devices that are yet to receive last year's Android 6.0 Marshmallow. Now, it has been reported that Sony Xperia C5 Ultra Dual has started receiving Marshmallow update via OTA (over-the-air).
Android 6.0 Marshmallow update been rolled out to Sony Xperia C5 Ultra Dual with model number E5533 in Italy, taking the firmware to 29.2.B.0.122, according to XperiaBlog website.
However, it may take some time to reach some devices as the firmware update has been rolled out in phases as is the case of all OTA updates.
Sony Xperia C5 Ultra Dual came running Android 5.0 Lollipop when it was released in August 2015. It sports a 6-inch IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen with 1,080x1,920 pixels (367 ppi pixel density), powered by a Mediatek MT6752 processor, and comes packed with a 16GB internal memory expandable up to 128GB via microSD card, and 2GB RAM. It also features a 13MP main camera with f/2.0, 25mm, autofocus and LED flash, a 13MP front-snapper with f/2.2, 22mm, autofocus and LED flash, and a 2,930mAh battery.
How to install Android 6.0 Marshmallow on your device via OTA:
- Android 6.0 Marshmallow download notification will appear on your phone screen
- Press "Download" button
- Press "Restart & Install" button
- Rebooting will begin automatically
- You will see "Installing System Update" notice when installation starts
- Upgrading begins automatically
- Android 6.0 Marshmallow will run on your device after upgrading is done
You can also manually check availability of the new software by going to – 'Settings' >> 'About phone' >> 'System updates' >> 'Check For Update'.
