After months of speculations and alleged leaked photos, Japanese electronics giant Sony has finally unveiled its flagship smartphone, Xperia Z, at the international CES (Consumer Electronics Show) 2013 in Las Vegas.
"With Xperia Z, we are bringing over half a century of innovation in TV, imaging, music, film and gaming to create a superphone experience that truly stands out," said Kuni Suzuki, President and CEO, at Sony Mobile Communications.
He further said," With great specifications, Sony's media applications, One-touch functions and outstanding battery life, Xperia Z is well positioned for leadership in the smartphone market. By putting smartphones at the heart of our strategy, Sony is enabling people to create, enjoy and share content and experiences like never before."
Sony's Xperia Z is packed with stunning features that matches spec-to-spec with that of Apple's iPhone 5, Samsung's Galaxy S3 which are currently the top sellers in the smartphone industry.

Sony also unveiled a design variant of the Xperia Z, titled Xperia ZL. The smartphone has similar technical features, but Xperia ZL is smaller than original variant Xperia Z.

The company claimed that the quad-core Xperia Z and its design variant Xperia ZL are expected to hit stores around the first quarter of 2013. And also the Android 4.2 OS upgrade will be released soon after Android releases its new OS. The prices of Sony's high-end devices are still under wraps.
Sony had also unveiled many products including the ultra-high-definition 4K OLED Television set and two digital cameras at the event.
