Japanese electronics conglomerate Sony has reportedly sent out press invites for an event scheduled to kick off on 25 June in Germany.
Sony's press invite written in German read "LUST AUF MEHR?" - meaning 'you want more?' without revealing anything about product launches.
However, Singapore based online media house VR-Zone in contact with its sources has claimed that Sony would in fact launch the speculated 'Togari' smartphone with a moniker 'Xperia ZU' at the press event.
The mythical Sony phablet, Xperia ZU, is alleged to sport a monster 6.44-inch screen with Full HD Tri-luminous colour display having next generation X-Reality Engine, an upgrade from current display technology BRAVIA Engine 2.
The new X-Reality Engine is said to improve the picture and video quality of the display through enhanced colour contrast. Apart from this new display technology, Xperia ZU is also pegged to feature a water-resistant body case with IP58 certifications capable of taking snapshots under water up to a depth of one metre for close to 30 minutes.
The speculated Xperia ZU is also reported to pack Qualcomm's Snapdragon 800 series quad-core processor with a staggering CPU speed of 2.3GHz. With such a powerful processor, Sony is all set to take on rivals such as Samsung's upcoming next generation Galaxy Note 3 and HTC One Mega which are expected to debut later this year.
In related news, rumours are rife that Xperia ZU won't be the lone debutant at the Sony event. Another smartphone called Honami which packs Sony's exclusive Cyber-Shot camera technology is also expected to share the limelight at the German event.
