Japanese technology firm Sony has sent out invitations for its 4 July press event in Paris, with the image believed to be that of the company's upcoming Xperia Togari phablet.
The Xperia Togari smartphone has been rumoured for release for quite some time and its images have frequently hit the internet. The invite showed an image of a slim device with power/lock key, volume rocker and a stylus. The design language of the smartphone seemed to be the same that of Xperia Z. The device was expected to debut on 25 June, and now with the press invite it is likely to see the light of day on 4 July.
According to GSM Arena, Sony's upcoming smartphone will debut as Xperia Z Ultra and will come with a big 6.4-inch FullHD 1080p display powered by a 2.3GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 chipset. Other stipulated features of the device include 2GB RAM, Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean operating system and an 8-megpaixel snapper. The phablet is rumoured to be water resistance like the Xperia Z. There were also reports that Xperia ZU will be compatible even with a pencil.
Earlier this week, an image alleged to be of Xperia ZU with a kitten on top appeared online, indicating its massive screen. Another image showing the phablet lying alongside HTC M4 and a Nokia Lumia device had also cropped up.
