To grab a piece of the mid-range and flagship smartphone pie in India, Sony has been launching a slew of smartphones under its Xperia series.
After launching the Xperia Z3+, Xperia M4 Aqua and Xperia C4, the Japanese smartphone maker is rumoured to launch another smartphone to to make further inroads into the selfie-focused smartphone market.
Softpedia (via XperiaBlog) reports the new smartphone will carry model number E3563.
According to the report, the smartphone first appeared at the Indonesian Postel regulatory website this year. Later, it was found on Zuaba, a website that tracks India's import-export data.
Apart from these, the Sony Xperia E3563 was also spotted on two renowned benchmarking websites GeekBench and GFXBench.
Unlike other smartphones, the Sony XPeria E3563 will feature a smaller 4.6-inch, 1080x1920 pixel display. Though the Xperia Z3 Compact features a similar size display with 720P resolution, the screen size of the rumoured smartphone could be a bit smaller comparing to the current standard.
The Sony Xperia E3563 is powered by a 1.9GHz octa-core MediaTek MT6795 chipset with PowerVR G62000 GPU backed with 3GB RAM memory and 16GB internal memory.
But the USP of the upcoming smartphone will be its 13MP front camera, which will enable the Sony Xperia E3663 to take on the ASUS ZenFone Selfie and other selfie-centric smartphones.
The Xperia blog further said that since the latest two releases, Xperia M4 Aqua Dual and Xperia C4, carried model numbers of E3263 and E5363, the number E3563 suggests that this smartphone would focus on the India smartphone market.
The hardware and camera specifications hint that the Sony Xperia E3563 might focus on the mid- budget smartphone market, but in the absence of authentic data, it's better to wait for the next update.
