The Sony has announced two new Android-based smartphones, Sony Xperia Go and the Sony Xperia Acro S, which will be rolled out worldwide in the third quarter of 2012. These smartphones are rugged to meet industry standard IP ratings (International Protection) for protection against dust and water immersion.
The Sony Xperia Go operates on Google's Android 2.3, codenamed as Gingerbread. However, it comes with an upgradeable option to latest Android 4.0 or Ice Cream Sandwich, with an expected price tag of around Rs 20,000.
Meanwhile, the Sony Xperia Acro S is better tweaked than its compatriot- Xperia Go- in terms of features and specifications, with water and dust resistance as well. However, Xperia Acro S becomes the first Sony's smartphone to have pre-loaded Android 4.0 ICS, which is expected to be priced at about Rs 34,000.

The Sony Xperia has 3.5-inch Reality Display with 1GHz dual core processor. It port Google's Android 2.3, Gingerbread and features 5 megapixel camera with auto focus 16x digital zoom, LED flash. It also has scratch resistant mineral glass display and offers protection against dust and water.
Xperia acro S:
Xperia acro S sports 4.3-inch 720p HD Reality Display and 12.1 meagpixel camera 12.1 megapixel camera with auto focus 16x digital zoom, LED flash. It also offers full 1080p HD video recording and 720p HD front camera.
Xperia acro S is also made up of scratch resistant mineral glass display. It's water and dust proof. It has a dual core processor and port Google's latest operating system- Android 4.0- Ice Cream Sandwich.
