Sony's much-awaited flagship camera-centric smartphone Honami aka Xperia i1 will be reportedly unveiled on 4 September in Berlin.
U.S. based media house, Bloomberg has reported that the Japanese electronics Sony would pull the warps of its new flagship Xperia model on 4 September, two days before global consumer electronics show, IFA (Internationale Funkausstellung Berlin) 2013. Samsung too is expected to unveil its new-generation phablet Galaxy Note 3 and smartwatch Galaxy Gear in Germany at the same event.
Without revealing the key specifications, sources told Bloomberg that "Tokyo-based company is using "X-Reality" picture-enhancement chips developed for Bravia TVs and sensors for its Cyber-shot cameras" in the upcoming Sony smartphone.
Recent reports on Sony phone suggests that Xperia i1 will sport a 5.0-inch full HD Triluminos display with 'X-Reality for Mobiles' screen technology and run on Android v4.2.2 Jelly Bean OS powered by a super fast 2.2GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 series quad-core processor with Adreno 330 graphics engine.
The main USP of Xperia i1 is its camera specification. The handset is rumoured to boast of a stunning 20.7-megapixel camera which can featuring company's exclusive camera technology Exmor RS image sensor, BIONZ image processor, and Sony G lens which are only seen in the high-end DSLR cameras.
Photography fans will be thrilled to know that the new Sony phone will be able to record videos in 4K (3840x2160p) resolution video which is twice the full HD 1080p quality.
Other note worthy features include 2GB RAM, water resistant and dust proof IP55/IP58 certifications, NFC and high-capacity 3000 mAh battery.
