South Korean actress Song Hye Kyo and South Korean actor Park Bo Gum's much-awaited drama will air on tvN. Fans of the actors can watch the first episode of the upcoming drama Boyfriend in November.
A source from the production team told Soompi: "'Boyfriend' has been confirmed to air on tvN as a Wednesday-Thursday drama. It is scheduled to premiere this November."
With this show, Song Joong Ki's wife and Bo Gum will be returning to television after a gap of two years. The 36-year-old actress previously appeared in Descendants of the Sun, that finished airing in April 2016.
Hye Kyo reprised the role of a doctor named Kang Mo-Yeon. The series, which was one of the most successful of Korean shows in recent years, was sold to 32 countries and translated to 32 different languages.
As for Bo Gum, he was noted for his character in the Moonlight Drawn By Clouds.
In Boyfriend, Hye Kyo will play Cha Soo Hyun, the daughter of a politician and former daughter-in-law of a family running a large business conglomerate. As for Bo Gum's character, Kim Jin Hyuk, he will appear as a man who enjoys the happiness of his everyday life.
Meanwhile, Bo Gum is very close to Hye Kyo's husband, Joong Ki. The two actors are known for their friendship and are giving friendship goals to everyone. Previously, Bo Gum said he owes a lot to Joong Ki.
"The reason I'm grateful to Song Joong Ki too is that in the beginning, I was very shaky and had no confidence," Park Bo Gum said in an interview in 2016, as reported by Soompi.
"I prayed a lot about it, but when I told Song Joong Ki that I didn't know what I should do, he cheered me on by saying that I should be confident in myself and have strength. I gained a lot of strength from him as we would meet up and have dinner together."
