Sonam Kapoor registered a police complaint on 5 February, after her diamond necklace went missing from her home.
According to a report in NDTV, Sonam, in her complaint, has mentioned that a day before incident happened, she had attended a party in Bandra wearing the necklace and some other jewellery.
And while she returned back home late night, she is said to have safely placed the necklace in a drawer in her room around 2am.
However, the same was missing later that day. The "Khoobsurat" actress in her complaint has also mentioned that the jewellery she wore for the party, was an endorsement, given to her by a well-known jeweller.
The fashion diva realised about the missing necklace only when a representative of the jeweller came to collect them the very next day.
The Juhu police has filed a theft case and has already started investigating the case. "We are investigating from all angles. We are also looking into whether Sonam dropped the necklace in the party she had attended," an officer from the Juhu police station told the daily.
Further, the cops will check the CCTV footage of the party she had attended to find if she was wearing the necklace while leaving the event.
Meanwhile, on the workfront, the "Dolly Ki Doli" actress is shooting for Sooraj Barjatya's "Prem Ratan Dhan Payo" opposite Salman Khan.
