Actress Sonam Kapoor unveiled the official logo of first-ever Ciroc Filmfare Style & Glamour Awards on Thursday. The award ceremony will honour the stars of entertainment world.
Kapoor dressed up for the ocassion in a strapless gown with white Blahnik heels and a sleek hairdo.
At the press meet, the actress expressed her excitement on being a part of Filmfare and this award ceremony. She jokingly said that she could now receive a Filmfare award because of Ciroc Filmfare Style & Glamour Awards.
The "Khoobsurat" actress was accompanied by Filmfare editor, Jitesh Pillai and Diageo India marketing and innovations director, Bhavesh Somaya.
"Thanks to movies, fashion has become more mainstream. Today, stars are becoming brand ambassadors of various fashion portals and are involved in designing pret lines that mirror their personality," Pinkvilla quoted Pillai as saying.
"Karan Johar has launched his own luxe label and the lines between movie and couture cultures are indeed blurring. Keeping all this in perspective, Filmfare has come out with a brand new property that reflects these changes."
He also said that the awards are meant to pay tribute not only to the big superstars but also the overall aesthetics of films. "It's our homage to all that's haute in tinsel town," he added.
This new award event will held on 26 February at the Taj Lands in Mumbai.
There will be nominations for Most Glamorous Star, Emerging Face of Fashion, Global Icon of the Year, Trendsetter of the Year and so on.
