Sonali Bendre, who is currently undergoing treatment for metastatic cancer in New York, is majorly missing her son Ranveer on his 13th birthday as it is the first time that she is away from him on his big day.
The 43-year-old actress shared an emotional video compilation of photos of the mother-son duo reliving some of the happiest days with her son right from his childhood to become a teenager.
Wishing her not-so-little son on his 13th birthday, Sonali wrote, "Ranveeeeer! My sun, my moon, my stars, my sky... Okay, maybe I'm being a bit melodramatic, but your 13th birthday deserves this. Wow, you're a teenager now... Will need some time to wrap my head around that fact. I can't tell you enough how proud I am of you... Your wit, your humour, your strength, your kindness, and even your mischief. Happy happy birthday, my not-so-little one. It's the first one that we're not together... I miss you terribly. Lots and lots of love always and forever.... biiiiig hug!"
A few days ago, Sonali had posted a picture on Instagram with Ranveer while sporting her cropped hair. In the post, she opened up about revealing the heart-breaking news to her son and his reaction.
The day Ranveer was told about cancer, Sonali was surprised to see that her son took the news maturely and instantly became her source of strength. He was with his mother in New York a few days ago for his summer vacation.
"I believe that it's imperative to keep kids involved in a situation like this. They are a lot more resilient than we give them credit for. It's important to spend time with them and include them, rather than make them wait on the sidelines, not being told yet instinctively knowing everything. In our effort to protect them from the pain and realities of life, we might end up doing the opposite," Sonali shared some parenting advice.
Sonali Bendre is putting up a brave fight against cancer which she discovered only after reaching a critical stage. Her husband Goldie Behl had also shared that she is responding well to the treatment without any complications.
