Sonakshi Sinha has reportedly been roped in to play the female lead in Vikramaditya Motwane's next directorial project, "Bhavesh Joshi" opposite Sidharth Malhotra.
The "Dabaang" actress, who is currently busy shooting for Amit Sharma's action film, "Tevar" opposite Arjun Kapoor, is said to have been approached by Motwane for the role. Sinha is apparently in talks with the makers regarding the project, though nothing has been confirmed yet, reported Bollywoodlife.
If Sinha signs the dotted line for the film, it will be the second time the actress will be teaming up with Motwane. The duo has previously worked together for the much acclaimed 2013 release "Lootera". The romantic drama set in the 1950s featured Sinha and Ranveer Singh in the lead.
Malhotra, who is riding high on the success of his recent release "Ek Villain" was announced as the new male lead of "Bhavesh Joshi", after Imran Khan walked out of the project. Rumors also had it that Singh had been approached for the role, but the actor rejected it, thus making way for Malhotra to step in.
Ever since the male lead was roped in, speculations regarding the female lead have been rife. However, it now appears that the "Rowdy Rathore" actress will romance the "Student of the Year" actor on the silver screen. The duo will be paired for the first time.
The movie will apparently have Malhotra playing a Gujarati character with superpowers. Further details of the project have not been revealed by the makers.
"Bhavesh Joshi" has hit several roadblocks since inception. Motwane was to start rolling the camera for the film last December, but the change in the cast led to the delay of the project. Later, news of Malhotra being cast in Karan Johar's Dharma Productions project came in, eventually forcing Motwane to delay the movie further.
But now that Motwane appears to have zeroed in on the lead characters, the shoot is likely to begin soon. The movie is expected to release in 2015.
