There is a rising trend in the Hindi film industry now. Actors are not only doing their regular jobs well (with their films raking in the moolah) but are also making inroads into the music fraternity.
Alia Bhatt, who has had a cracking year so far, crooned for Imtiaz Ali's "Highway" and Shashank Khaitan's "Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania". "Samjhawan" from "HSKD" has been topping the charts ever since its release though the soulful "Sooha Saha" from "Highway" failed to create much buzz.
Also, Shraddha Kapoor's "Galliyan" from "Ek Villain" was a heart-warming rendition. According to reports, she did not have to take many lessons prior to recording.
New in the line is Sonakshi Sinha, who will be making her singing debut with "Amplifier" singer Imran Khan in Amit Sharma's "Tevar". The gorgeous actress has only recorded a line for the song "Let's Celebrate", reports India Today.
During the one-take shoot, the cast reportedly had a good laugh on Khan's diamond-studded 80,000 Euro 'IK' chain. According to a Times of India report, the singer had enquired producer Sanjay Kapoor about the security on the set, to which, Kapoor jokingly replied, it was for the expensive chain he was wearing and not for him.
Sinha, who enjoyed the shoot, took to Twitter to express her joy.
So @Imrankhanworld is here and rocking the sets of #Tevar!!! So much fun and its my last day on this set... Oh oh!

Salman Khan ("Hangover" from "Kick"), Akshay Kumar ("Entertainment") and Varun Dhawan ("Lucky 2 Lucky Me" from "HSKD") are other stars who recently recorded songs for their films. Looks like the actors have taken it upon themselves to absorb as much work as they can. Here's hoping the trend does not affect established singers.
