The satellite rights of "Soggade Chinni Nayana" (SCN) have been sold to Gemini TV for a fancy price, a record for a solo movie of actor Akkineni Nagarjuna.
"Soggade Chinni Nayana" is a supernatural family drama featuring Nagarjuna, Ramya Krishnan and Lavanya Tripathi in the lead. The movie has been written by P Ram Mohan, directed by Kalyan Krishna and produced by Nagarjuna under the Annapurna Studios banner. Its promos had created a lot of curiosity about the movie before its release.
On 15 January, "Soggade Chinni Nayana" released in over 600 cinema halls across the globe and received good response from viewers. Despite clashing with "Nannaku Prematho", "Dictator" and "Express Raja", the movie grossed Rs 45.93 crore at the box office. The film has earned Rs 29.75 crore for its distributors, who had shelled out Rs 18.50 crore on its theatrical rights.
"Soggade Chinni Nayana" has turned out to be biggest hit of this Sankranti. The huge success of the film had created a huge demand for its satellite rights, and several leading Telugu TV channels were in the race to bag them. Gemini TV reportedly bought its TV rights for a whopping Rs 6.50 crore.
The film failed to beat the record of Nagarjuna's last outing, "Manam", which starred late legendary actor Nageswara Rao, along with Naga Chaitanya and Akhil, besides Nagarjuna himself. The multi-starrer fetched Rs 8 crore from its satellite rights, which were acquired by Gemini TV. But none of Naga's solo films have earned more than Rs 6 crore from their TV rights. Here is the list of his last five films.

Greeku Veerudu | Rs 6 crore | Zee Telugu |
Damarukam | Rs 6 crore | Gemini TV |
