A snapshot taken from Sony's yet-to-be-launched Honami aka Xperia i1 has surfaced online, confirming that the upcoming smartphone might indeed feature a 20.6 mega-pixel camera.
The picture was first uploaded on Google+ page by Taylor Li, a Taiwan based employee of Sony Mobile. But when the report went wild in the media, the snapshot was taken off his page. The EXIF (Exchangeable Image File format) document of the snapshot reveals that it was taken by a device with code number C6902 (non-LTE Sony Xperia i1) and also showed that the image had a high-definition 3936x5248p resolution taken from a 20.6-megapixel camera with f/2.0 aperture.
According to reports, Sony Xperia i1/Honami is expected to sport a 5.0-inch full HD Triluminos screen with X-Reality display technology and run on Android v4.2.2 Jelly Bean OS powered by a faster Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 series quad-core processor which can top a CPU speed up to 2.2GHz.
It is also said to pack Adreno 330 graphics engine, 2GB RAM and 16GB inbuilt memory with options of expansion through microSD card.
The Xperia i1's 20.7-megapixel camera is rumoured to feature Exmor RS image sensor technology, CMOS sensor with Sony's exclusive G-lens and an image processor 'BIONZ' which is only seen in high-end DSLR cameras.
Sony is also said to be including camera tools such as superior auto and manual options, time-shift burst mode, Sweep Panorama, Social Live (it lets users to broadcast live video on social platform like Facebook), Info-eye feature, AR Effect feature, which lets user put 'Augmented Reality' scenarios on to a picture and many more editing options.
The smartphone will flaunt a 2.0-megapixel Exmor R camera on the front side.
The Japanese electronics company is rumoured to unveil the camera centric high-end Xperia i1/ Honami smartphone at the international technology trade fair, IFA (Internationale Funkausstellung Berlin) 2013, Germany, on 6-11 September.
