Shah Rukh Khan's "SLAM! The Tour" is creating waves across the world, but the actor has said that the road shows are not for promoting his upcoming film "Happy New Year."
Last month, the actor announced the "SLAM! The Tour" on his Twitter handle and also posted a trailer of the tour, which will take place in the UK, US and Canada in the coming months.
The tour will start in September and the actor along with the other cast and crew will perform live in various cities of the US and Canada.
SRK will be joined by his "Happy New Year" director Farah Khan and co-stars Abhishek Bachchan, Deepika Padukone, Sonu Sood, Boman Irani and Vivan Shah. Also, rapper Yo Yo Honey Singh and Bollywood diva Malaika Arora Khan will be part of the tour.
Though it is said to be a promotional tour for "Happy New Year," SRK has denied it by saying that it's just a world tour like "Temptation Reloaded."
"I haven't done a world tour for 10 years, and just been reloading Temptations [a previous tour]... [This time] You have to have eight artistes because that's how it's designed. Fortunately, in this film, we have seven, and Farah [Khan], so it becomes eight... But as we go along, if some of them drop [out], because everybody is busy, I'll get other artistes," SRK told Hindustan Times.
There were also reports that SRK is planning to earn ₹200 crore from the promotional tour, as the team will have around 25 to 30 shows in the UK, US and Canada and from each show they will earn around ₹7 crore. Now the superstar has denied that also and said that earning money is not the primary motive of the tour.
"There's no moneymaking in this for the actors, and they're being very kind about it. We go in the evening and perform for two hours, and I'd like to keep it short and nice. And it's not just about the film, but [will be] a different kind of a show," he added.
