Czech automaker Skoda's Yeti facelift has been spotted testing on Indian roads as we inch closer to the launch of the vehicle in the country.
Yeti facelift, which is on sale in international markets, is offered in Outdoor and Style variants. The test mule, which was caught on camera by the folks at Autocar India, seem to be the Outdoor version.
From the images, we can see the tweaked front fascia of the new model with wider grille and headlights. The car also flaunts reworked front bumper and tail lamps. Also expect the car to come with the new logo of Skoda, Keyless entry and go system, Electrically adjustable driver's seat, Cruise control and Rear view camera.
Previous reports indicated that Skoda will also introduce DSG (Direct Shift Gearbox) in the upcoming Yeti facelift and it is likely to carry a price tag similar to the current model. In India, Skoda Yeti is currently priced in the range of ₹15.19 lakh to ₹18.91 lakh.
On the mechanical front, the new avatar is likely to carry the same 2.0 litre diesel engine, which features in the current Yeti, and is also likely to continue having two states of tune - 110 PS at 4,200 rpm and 140 PS at 4,200 rpm. The 110 PS variant is tuned to make 250 Nm of torque and is likely to get a 5-speed manual gearbox, while the 140 PS variant pumps in 320 Nm of torque and is expected to come mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox.
Although the company has not revealed the exact launch date of the Yeti facelift in the country, rumours are that the car will reach the market around September.
For India, Skoda is also making a new flagship seven-seater SUV and a new edition of Skoda Rapid. The new SUV is expected to be around 4.6 meters in length, and is likely to be pegged against Toyota Fortuner and Hyundai Santa Fe.
On the other hand, Rapid new edition is likely to be powered by a 104bhp 1.5-litre diesel engine. The company may also offer DSG automatic gearbox and paddle shifters in the car.
