Skoda India is expected to launch the new facelifted avatar of the Rapid sedan in the country on November 3. And ahead of its arrival in the country, the Rapid facelift has made an appearance on the web through a new spy shot - this time in its fully revealed form.
The Rapid facelift was caught on camera before too, but the new spy shot gives a pretty clear picture of the changes made to the sedan. From the latest image shared by AutoCar India, the front fascia of Rapid seems to have borrowed the styling from Octavia. There is a retouched front grille and new headlamps. The headlamps of the Rapid facelift seem to have received an angular treatment and the bumper houses a wide air dam.
Although the image does not show the rear end of the Rapid facelift, from what we have heard so far, the rear and the side profiles are likely to remain untouched. While the changes made to the cabin of the Rapid facelift is still kept in the dark, the word around the web indicate that it could get an updated infotainment system with Mirrorlink, automatic AC with dust and pollen filter, front centre armrest and rear AC vents.
Coming to the engine bit, reports suggest that while the 1.6 MPI petrol mill in the current model will stay intact, the 1.5 TDI diesel mill will make way for the new 1.5-litre diesel unit of the Ameo compact sedan. The Ameo diesel generates 108bhp at 4,000rpm and 25Nm of torque at 1,500-3,000rpm.
The transmission in the petrol variant is taken care of by five-speed manual and six-speed automatic transmission and five-speed manual and seven-speed automatic transmissions in diesel models.
