A fresh batch of spy shots of the new Skoda Rapid facelift has started doing the rounds on the internet, giving yet another look at the model ahead of its official launch in the country. The Skoda Rapid facelift has been undergoing rigorous tests on the Indian roads for quite sometime and is expected to make its market entry during the festive season of this year.
Caught on camera by MotorBeam, in the images, the test mule of facelifted avatar of the Rapid is seen partially camouflaged and it appears like the front camouflage is hiding a lot of details. In its new facelifted avatar, Skoda Rapid is expected to boast changes like new fog lights, projector head lamps and new front grille.
Coming to the cabin, from what we know so far, the Rapid facelift is expected to pack new dual-tone seat fabrics and features like upgraded infotainment system with Mirrorlink, Climatronic-automatic AC with dust & pollen filter, front centre armrest, rear AC vents and electrically adjustable OVRMs. The Rapid, which rivals Honda City, Maruti Suzuki Ciaz and Hyundai Verna in India is expected to be priced at about Rs. 8.3 lakh.
Under the hood, expect the Rapid pack the same engine of the existing model. While the 1.6 MPI petrol mill currently develops 103bhp and 153Nm of torque, the 1.5 TDI diesel mill will churn out the same power of petrol unit with higher torque of 250Nm. The transmission in the petrol variant is taken care of by five-speed manual and six-speed automatic transmission and five-speed manual and seven-speed automatic transmissions in diesel models.
