Czech auto-maker Skoda has been testing its upcoming Rapid facelift on the Indian roads. The Skoda Rapid is expected to be launched in the country in its new avatar during the festive season this year.
Now ahead of its launch in India, a new video showing the Rapid facelift has hit the internet. Although in the video, the Rapid facelift seems to be in its fully revealed form, in reality, the car is covered with plastic camouflage, which looks like the body. The video, which was uploaded by YouTube user TechBuzz, shows the front and rear end of the model. In the facelifted avatar, Skoda Rapid is expected to boast changes like new fog lights, projector head lamps and new front grille.
Under the hood, Rapid facelift is expected to get the same engine as that of the existing model. While the 1.6 MPI petrol mill currently develops 103bhp and 153Nm of torque, the 1.5 TDI diesel mill will churn out the same power as the petrol unit with higher torque of 250Nm. The transmission in the petrol variant is taken care of by five-speed manual and six-speed automatic transmission and five-speed manual and seven-speed automatic transmissions in diesel models.
Inside the cabin, the Rapid facelift is expected to get new dual-tone seat fabrics and features like upgraded infotainment system with Mirrorlink, Climatronic-automatic AC with dust & pollen filter, front centre armrest, rear AC vents and electrically adjustable OVRMs. Expect the Rapid in its new avatar to be priced at about Rs. 8.3 lakh.
